about

Redemption is about having to face and make amends towards the people one has hurt in the past through their actions before recovery. One of the main reasons I isolated myself for 10 months from everyone I possibly could was because I was under the impression that everyone was sick of me and everything I was. This was no more invasive than when it came to my personal close friend group I've had since high school. We've all known each other for over 10 years now, and for reasons I still can't quite understand, my brain was telling me that they all wanted nothing to do with me anymore and were completely sick of me, my actions, and who I was as a person. As a result, I isolated completely.

Fast forward to the current point in this timeline, and I had to make the very difficult decision to face my friend group and apologize for the worry I had caused them for 10 months. Barring personal details, I realized almost immediately that it was all in my head and they've only ever loved me and wanted the best for me, as true friends would. Amends were made, friendships rekindled, and myself redeemed.

lyrics

A servant to oneself
My eyes close in solemnity
Wavering thoughts of hope and regret
Collectively pulsing within

Do you believe
In forgiveness
A second chance
Redemption

Within our framework
Of neural wanderings
We are bound by heart and mind
You are not alone

Do you believe
In forgiveness
A second chance
Redemption
