about

Lost is pretty self-explanatory. The peaks and valleys within it represent accepting being in a state of uncertainty, and the full band parts display attempts to understand and break free from one's mental shackles. I spent an agonizing amount of time completely alone, as well as unemployed, just rotting away in my room, and not knowing or caring what direction my life was headed in. That point at its bleakest is a state of being that I never want to return to, and this song is a reminder of that for me.

lyrics

Tendrils of swirling morosity
Embrace my vessel
Rain pours, deafening
Beams of light don't project

Faltering hope
The distance grows
Aligned with none but the stars
The falls have frozen

Destitute and cold
An inner monologue
Soothes the pain of silence
Malicious neurology

Unyielding, unwavering
A pendulous war within
Where has my heart gone?
And what is the purpose?
