Redemption 04:50
A servant to oneself My eyes close in solemnity Wavering thoughts of hope and regret Collectively pulsing within Do you believe In forgiveness A second chance Redemption Within our framework Of neural wanderings We are bound by heart and mind You are not alone

Advent 02:16

When night has fallen And the moon conquers the sky Spirits emerge from their tombs And cry out forevermore Melancholic seclusion Sullen and sunken eyes Distortion of yourself Will lead to your demise

about

This is mainly a single version of Redemption, which will be appearing on the next full-length Morke record. The direction I'm moving in is a strange one, but it has many facets as usual. Don't expect complacency.

Advent is a small instrumental piece that I felt could stand on its own and represent a certain image unto itself, to which I will leave the listener to decide.

Melancholic Seclusion is a stark experimentation, at least for me. It is the first (and probably last) use of strictly low harsh vocals on a Morke track, and the guitars are tuned to DADGAD, which is great for vast chordal shifts, however lends itself to not really be translatable to D standard, my usual tuning.

Melancholic Seclusion and Advent will stand by themselves as a snapshot in time for my songwriting wanderings leading up to the next full-length. Until then, We are the River.
